What the old blind man did was Shocking (#53).
On Sabbath day (Saturday) the 15th of May 2021, we're in church celebrating men's day.
It was a great opportunity for us all to celebrate that great occasion with the men's in the church.
The men's we're well planed for that special day.
They try their best to bring a lot of smiles and joy to the children of God.
Especially the play which was created by one elder (Conteh).
As the program was going on successful, something touching happens.
It was time for promotion, time for people to make pledges for the fencing project.
Because of hardship presently, this Covid-19 pandemic heating the economy.
It was tough for people to make pledges (hmmm).
But someone from the front seat raises his hand, pledge.
Everyone was surprised at him you know.
He was the old blind man who did that.
After service, I meet him, book an appointment to see him during the week.
His name is Pa Solomon.
He is around 70-80years old.
He is very active in church, especially when he comes to singing.
He knows how to sing in one of our local language (Themne) very well.
I visit his house during the week trying to know more about him.
I ask him many questions and he answered them all.
He told me he is blind but he did not go out to beg on the road for survival.
He lives on soap making, even do he did not make enough to support himself and his family.
He has two little girls living with him presently.
He also told me that, his first child get pregnant become things are very hard for them.
He lives with his wife and three children, he is going through a lot with his financial life, but he like sacrificing for God.
He remains me of the story of the widow.
If you read (Mark 12), Jesus was watching people putting money into the temple treasury.
Rich people put in a lot of money, then the poor (widow) put in 2 small copper coins worth about a penny.
Jesus saw a lesson so he gathers his disciples together.
“This poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury; for they gave out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, gave all she owned, all she had to live on.”
Pa Soloman pledge out of poverty, believe that he can pay by faith.
Some of us instead of helping people we try to damage the future, describe them badly to others.
If you are that kind of person as you are reading this now I need you to change and be positive to others.
Pa Solomon is a Sierra Leonean, he is living in one of our capital city (Makeni).
He was so happy when I told him I am going to write about him and tell the world about the suffering he is going through.
Thank you for following me as I am now 1year plus doing this.
Congratulations to you all for following me every Friday.
Please continue to share with friends, family, and love ones.
Help me change lives and inspired people.
Have a blessed weekend.
God bless you all.
