The road to success is not for the spiritless (#191).
For over (7) years, I have been on the road to achieving success, but I come to realize that it was never an easy way to achieve greatness.
There was a time when I almost gave up, I almost with a heavy heart, thought it was not my calling.
Year after year I always see myself in the same position, the one that pains me the most seeing myself going backwards.
But one thing that keeps me going day by day, I know when my time reaches nothing will stop me from shining.
I will surely reach that point where everyone will know my name and make that money I always dreamed of making.
There was this bible verse that always reminds me, I should wait patiently and believe in God, things will surely be good for me one day.
Isaiah 55:8, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, wth the LORD.
I went to a football academy at the age (15) to pursue my football career to reach the top I always wanted to reach.
I wanted to be a soccer best player, I wanted the fans in the stadium to shout my name loud, and I was very anxious to get the love of fans.
My intention was to make the fans happy, and to be their favorite player, but the road to reaching that level was very difficult.
Since I joined the academy I have been the best striker in the team, but anytime scouts came to scout players I always left out.
Every other player I know that joined the team together with or maybe I'm senior for him has been scouted and got a new club making money.
At 20 my coach told me I needed to give a chance to the young boys, which means I'll be coming from the bench.
The way I felt that day, seriously I can't explain, for me to sit on the bench and watch my junior once start ahead of me.
I didn't give up, I tightened my seat belt and started extraordinary training everyday morning and evening.
Trying to improve, my skills, my energy and my love for the game and doing a lot of self-training.
Every time I came from the bench I made the difference but my coach still put me on the bench because he wanted to sell out the young boys.
At 22, on my birthday I told my coach I wanted to quit football if I did not make it now at this age when I was going to make it.
My coach loves me so much he never wants such to happen to me, he has done everything to market me but nothing happens.
I told him (coach) in the evening, in the morning I was packing my bags to go back to the village.
I know my parents will be very sad about me going back home without achieving anything, but something happened when I was packing up.
I got a phone call from my coach, I should stay for a very important friendly match, scouts from abroad will witness the match.
I did not feel excited because of my past experiences with scouts, they would praise me in the end I would not be chosen.
One thing that always runs in my mind every now and then, when it's my time nothing will stop me from shining, I agreed to stay as my coach wishes.
But unfortunately, I did not start the match and my team lost during the first half of play, my coach made no mistake.
I came in just after halftime, what I did that day was history, 48th minute of play I scored the equalizing goal.
The 60th minute I scored the 2-1 goal, 90th minute I scored the third goal, I completed my hatrick within 45 minutes of play.
I was crowned the man of the match, instantly I was a scout and got my first senior contract, straight to Europe.
Since then, I have kept making names, scoring goals after goal, my story changed, and I became a legend.
If you want to give up on your dream because you don't want to be patient and wait for your time, you want to give up so easily.
Go through the history of the likes of Mohamed Kallon, Cristiano Ronaldo (CR7), Sadio Mane, Leo Messi, Victor Osimhen and many more.
All of these legends go through a lot before they become who they are today, they never give up.
Instead, they put more effort into training, don't fold and fold foot expect miracles to happen, God help does that help themselves.
Thank you for following me.
Have a blessing.
