Stop blaming your parents because they are poor (#202)!
Mr. Turay was a carpenter (furniture designer), he was a very hard-working man but he suffered a lot in life just to make sure things went well with his family.
He tried his best to send his children to school, he tried to make sure that they lived that average life anyone can live as a human.
His wife (Mrs Turay) is also a very hardworking businesswoman, she has a small business, and she trades in the market as a way to support her husband with some of the little things at home.
Mr Turay popularly known as (Mr Tee) is a popular carpenter man in his community, he has only one wife and four children, two boys and two girls.
The elder’s child is a male child, his name is Musa and the youngest is a female child and her name is Kadiatu, the other two are Mbalu and Kai.
Mr Turay was the only child of his parent, his father died when his mother was nine (9) months pregnant, and his mother gave birth to him two weeks after the death of her husband.
Mamie Turay who is Mr Turay's mother went through a tough time in the hands of her in-laws, she was not able to go through the pain in the hands of her in-laws.
She passed away when Mr Turay was just three (3) years old, and then at that very young age, Mr Turay started experiencing hell on earth.
Mr Turay did not go to school because his aunties and uncles did not send him to school, he was fortunate to learn skills when he ran away from the house at the age of 13 years old.
Mr Turay was used to one meal a day and guess what! He does all the work at home, including washing the uniform of his cousin after school every day.
One day he got tired and said you know what I don’t have a choice, if I am going to die staying on the street so be it, but it’s high time I live to start a new life.
He made that move, trying to do all kinds of jobs but none of them was successful for him, one day he decided to start learning carpentry (a furniture designer).
God is so good that he became a very successful and famous furniture designer and he thanks God for giving him such talent to make hence meat for his family every day.
But the youngest child (Kadiatu) never appreciates her father’s handwork, she always feels unfortunate to be part of the Turay family, ashamed to tell her friends the kind of job her dad is doing for a living.
She loves to move with very rich friends, and she always admires her rich friend’s parents, thinking they are too hardworking, which is why they are rich.
She told her parent that they are very lazy which is why they are poor and she regrets being their daughter in public, just imagine sure embrace giving to you by your own child. What will be your reaction?
Mr Turay tries to make her understand that they are trying their best to give them a better life, which was never their wish to be poor.
But she refused and ended up living on the street, her life became miserable after some years.
While she was busy blaming her parent, her elder ones were busy focusing on their studies.
After some years of living on the street, Mr Turay and Mrs Turay make sure they pick Kadiatu up from the street.
They make her understand that it was never their fault to be poor, but they work hard to change that part of their story.
She tries to understand this time and be positive after the street has taught her some bitter lessons, but one thing about her, she is ready to bounce again and do better things.
If you go out there now and choose to listen to most of these drug addicts and homeless guys this is what they will tell you, but you need to change that mindset and be positive. There is no easy way out.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land. Ephesians 6:1-3.
