You see sometimes we look at things in a different way just because of a hard life or current situation we are through at a particular time, our life sometimes goes through a lot just to learn a different lesson in our life.
There is a guy by the name of Moses, whose life was full of struggle and pains. Moses was raised by his grandmother independently, life was really difficult for them because of that, they face a lot of crucial moment in life.
Moses and his grandmother only survive on the little business his grandma do all through a very long time, they live in a small town call Yele, even though things were very different for them they were very happy together as a family.
One of the most difficult and saddest moment was when Moses get requirements to entire university for the first time in life when Moses went to collect his result he also meets with his friends and they were all happy to see each other and talk about going to the university for the first time.
Moses was not that happy because he knew his grandma can't afford that kind of money to send him to the university, his friends try to courage him and give him some words of hope so that he will not let go of his dream, but even that was not enough for Moses to come down, at first he pretends to be ok with his situation so friends can't border about him that much.
Moses went home with joy to tell his grandma about the good news, his grandma was happy to hear that, celebrate with his grandson, prepared country chicken for him "hmmm delicious" the funniest part is that when Moses was eating the food his grandma was busy singing for him "hahaha" how happy they were.
Few minutes after eating the food his grandma starts crying, Moses didn't even ask grandma why she is crying because he already knows what the problem is, what his grandma wants to say to him, they both hug themselves crying and console each other.
The woman gives some words of advice to her grandson, by saying he should always help people without asking or receiving anything, he should learn how to respect people no matter who the person is, he should not judge people by their appearance and be mindful for anything that is coming out of his mouth.
After all, the advice grandma asks him to kneel down and bless him, she prayed for him and told him that it is well, everything is going to be fine, they both smile about it and go back to their normal life with so much hope and trust in the Lord.
A few weeks ago Moses met an old man struggle with his luggage on the road, he runs to render his assistance to him at once, Moses follows the man home and live the luggage trying to say goodbye the man gave him some money but he refused and say thanks to the man, the old man was surprised and say children of this days can help someone without asking for nothing.
He said thanks to Moses too and ask him to visit him every day, he like Moses to be his friend, he may like to know more about Moses, Moses accepts but before he lives, he asks the old man if he needs any help at the moment, the man says no Moses live at once.
Moses came early the other day after doing his work at home to assist the old man with some housework, after doing all the work they seat together and talk as friends, he asks Moses to tell him more about himself if Moses is ok with that if that will not border him that much.
Moses told him everything about himself with a sad face, the old man shed tears hearing that sad story for the young man, the old man asks Moses to give him his details without any promise made, Moses did at once without any delay and Moses went home, the old man makes some calls for Moses to enter university.
The following day Moses came to visit with some fruits for the old man, he was pleased with Moses and ask Moses to go with him to the city, Moses was happy on the other hand he was not because of his grandma, the old man told him that your grandma will also come along.
He gave him the final news, he told Moses the University of Sierra Leone has accepted him and he is ready to pay the fees, Moses was like "wooow wooow" he ran home and told his grandma about the good news, that was the best news ever. Finally, they left for the city and Moses continues his studies.
The lesson I want us all to learn here is that you should always be content with what we have, we should respect elders and help people, don't render help to people because they can offer you something after your service, you may not know who that person is, so if you are doing something for free do it with love.
Matthew 5:16 says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Goodness is not about doing elaborate things to gain recognition. Oftentimes, it is the small acts of goodness we do throughout our day that means the most to those around us.
May your weekend be a blessed one through Christ Jesus who lives in heaven above……Amen!
