Focus on things that are beneficial to you (#192).
My name is "Foday" and this is my story, I was born in a remote village where we don't take tradition ceaselessly.
We take it very seriously, that is what my parents believe in, so I follow in their footsteps.
I adapted to it, I was so in love with it, I was born into it, I was in love with our traditions that had some many laws.
Most of our traditions are ungodly, but in our village we don't know about any other religion.
We just follow what our great, great grandparents were doing during their days on earth, that is what they teach us.
There were so many unnecessary laws we never knew they were not good for us because they made no sense when we found about the truth.
We were living in a dark world without any light pointing towards our directions, our lives remained the same, with no progress at all.
Imagine the best life we are living now, compared to the dark life we were living before.
They make us believe that there is no better life to live, then that of their fake society we join when we were kids around the age of (4-5&6).
They will not wait for you to reach the level where you can make choices on your own, even now, as I speak, some people still live in such bondage.
I know the reason why some of them did not accept change is because they did not believe in change, to them it doesn't matter if they die in the dark.
What matters to them they enjoy doing evil, but what piece me off, is when I come to realize that evil life is full of dirtyness?
The bible says cleanliness is next to godliness, there is nothing sweet about doing evil.
Others who decided to choose a new life in Christ Jesus, come to realize how we waste our precious lives following tradition.
The was this man who came to our village to preach the gospel but our people did not allow him to stay.
He pleased for just one week to stay and rest for some time, at least, but they granted him just three days to stay.
Everyone in the village was observing the way he was living his life compared to ours, the things our elders said if we did them we would die.
But this man is doing them over and over still living a fresh life, he was so clean and good-looking as a perfect man.
We looked so dirty, rough, and smelling, we didn't wash everyday, not talking of eating a good meal, we were forbidden to go close to him.
He is also forbidden to come close to us, our elders did not want us to know the truth and abandon our traditions or society.
Imagine one of the sweetiest food you are not allowed to eat, not allowed to take a bath everyday (thank God I found a new life through Christ Jesus who strengthened me).
Just because of tradition, you will join society at a very small age where you don't even have the sense to know what you are doing is good or bad.
Some of us sneak out at night to visit the stranger to tell us more about himself because we have been misled by our people.
He was so pleased to hear that, he first taught us how to accept (Christ Jesus) as our Lord and personal saviour, we surely did at once.
We come to know the truth, guess what happened the following morning, we try to do all things through Christ Jesus.
Things that were forbidden to do, if we do them we shall surfar all the days of our lives, but when we do them, it's been good then ever before.
When our elders find out about what we have done, they ask to find us, we've committed abomination.
We know our punishment is going to be a very dangerous one for us, we've to run away with the stranger too.
If they catch him too, he will be a dead man without asking a single question, since that day we did not return to the village again.
Finally, we come to realize that we were wasting time on things that are not even matter or beneficial to us.
Matthew 6:33! But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Thank you for reading.
